Author: Cascade

Connect Rakuten RPP (Rakuten Ichiba's search ads) to import RPP performance into Cascade automatically every day. View performance alongside other ad platforms in Performance Analysis and Keyword Analysis under Analysis > Ad Analysis. You can change and apply settings such as monthly budgets and CPC from Ad Settings > Campaign Management and Keyword Analysis. In Rakuten RPP Optimization under Ad Optimization, you receive daily proposals based on performance and gross margins. Changes are applied when you approve them. Connect from Settings > Integrations in the left menu.

Connect in the following 3 steps.

  1. Enter your shop URL in Cascade to connect.

  2. Add and approve Cascade's Rakuten ID in R-Login in RMS.

  3. Register your store's R-Login ID and password in Cascade.

Prerequisites

  • Integrations is available on the Business plan.

  • You must have the Owner or Admin role for the product to connect and register R-Login credentials.

  • You need help from someone who can approve users in your store's R-Login (an R-Login administrator).

  • Have the URL of the store you want to connect ready (e.g. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/).

  • Have your store's R-Login ID and password ready (the credentials shared by staff when logging in to RMS).

Each store can connect to only 1 product. If the same store is connected to another product, disconnect it from that product first.

Steps

1. Enter your shop URL in Cascade to connect

Ads Integrations on the Integrations page

Open Settings > Integrations, then click Connect in the Rakuten RPP row under Ads Integrations.

Connect Rakuten RPP dialog

On the Connect Rakuten RPP screen, enter the following and click Connect.

Field

Description

Shop URL (or slug)

Your Rakuten Ichiba store's homepage URL (e.g. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/). You can also use just the slug at the end (e.g. your-shop).

This step is complete when "Successfully connected to Rakuten RPP." appears. The Rakuten RPP row in the list shows R-Login required.

2. Add and approve Cascade's Rakuten ID in R-Login in RMS

Click Register in the Rakuten RPP row to open the Register R-Login ID and password screen. It shows the Cascade Rakuten ID you need to add. Click Copy Cascade's Rakuten ID to copy it.

Permission Category Name

Excluding R-Backoffice

Select Staff for Permission and Excluding R-Backoffice for Permission Category Name. If you select different options, automatic performance data retrieval does not start.

3. Register your store's R-Login ID and password in Cascade

On the screen you opened in step 2, enter the following and click Register.

Field

Description

R-Login ID

Your store's R-Login ID used to log in to RMS (shared by staff).

R-Login password

The password for the R-Login ID above.

When "R-Login ID and password registered." appears, the row in the list changes to Preparing to start. Preparation usually takes a few minutes, then automatic performance data retrieval starts.

If you register before completing the addition and approval in step 2 The list shows Rakuten ID must be added and approved in RMS. Complete the addition and approval in step 2. Retrieval starts automatically after approval (it may take about 1 day to start).

When performance data appears

Performance data through the previous day is imported once every afternoon. It may take about 1 day for the first performance data to appear after automatic retrieval starts. Morning notifications and reports may not yet include the previous day's data.

Click Sync under Ad Settings > Campaign Management to sync the campaign and product lists. There is a limit on the number of syncs per day.

Rakuten RPP Optimization

In Rakuten RPP Optimization under Ad Optimization, you receive daily proposals for changes to max CPC, keyword CPC, exclusions, and keyword additions based on performance and gross margins. Review the differences from the current settings in the management interface and approve them to apply the changes. Cascade does not change RPP settings without your approval. Set gross margins for each product under EC > Catalog.

Change your R-Login password (every 90 days)

You must change your R-Login password every 90 days. After changing it in RMS, click Update in the Rakuten RPP row under Settings > Integrations and register the new ID and password. Performance data retrieval stops if you do not register them. For details, see Register or update your Rakuten RPP R-Login (when data stops syncing).

Handling R-Login credentials

  • Your R-Login ID and password are sensitive credentials that provide access to your store's RMS. Do not share them with third parties.

  • Avoid taking or sharing screenshots that show these credentials.

Disconnect

Under Settings > Integrations, click Remove in the Rakuten RPP row. The message "Disconnecting deletes your stored R-Login ID and password and stops automatic performance data retrieval." appears. Review it and proceed. After disconnecting, remove Cascade's Rakuten ID from the R-Login users in RMS.
