Register or update your Rakuten RPP R-Login (when data stops syncing)
Add and approve Cascade's Rakuten ID, register and update R-Login credentials every 90 days, and troubleshoot stopped performance data imports.
Author: Cascade
To import Rakuten RPP performance data automatically, you need to complete the following 2 steps. Register or update the information from the Rakuten RPP row under Settings > Integrations in the left menu.
Add Cascade's Rakuten ID as an R-Login user in RMS acting on your behalf, and have an R-Login administrator approve it.
Register your store's R-Login ID and password (shared by staff) in Cascade.
If you have not connected using your store URL, first complete step 1 in "Connect Rakuten RPP to import ad performance". The product's Owner or Admin can perform these actions in Cascade. Integrations are available on the Business plan.
Add and approve Cascade's Rakuten ID in R-Login
Open Settings > Integrations and click Register in the Rakuten RPP row. If you have already registered, click Re-register or Update. The screen shows the Cascade Rakuten ID you need to add. Click Copy Cascade's Rakuten ID to copy it.
In R-Login in RMS, add this Rakuten ID as a user acting on your behalf, and have an R-Login administrator approve it. Select the following options during approval.
Field | Option to select |
|---|---|
Permission | Staff |
Permission Class Name | Exclude R-Backoffice |
Automatic performance data retrieval does not start if you select different options. If you change the settings after approval, check that the R-Login user settings still match the table above.
Register your R-Login ID and password
Enter the following information on the same screen, then click Register.
Field | Description |
|---|---|
R-Login ID | Your store's R-Login ID used to sign in to RMS (shared by staff) |
R-Login password | The password for the R-Login ID above |
After registration, the row in the list changes to Preparing to start. Automatic performance data retrieval usually begins within a few minutes.
Your R-Login ID and password are sensitive credentials that provide access to your store's RMS. Do not share them with third parties. Avoid taking or sharing screenshots that show them.
Update your password every 90 days
You need to change your R-Login password every 90 days. Cascade tracks the expiration date using 90 days from registration as a guideline. Starting 14 days before expiration, the Notices column in the Rakuten RPP row shows X Days Remaining. After expiration, it shows Expired. The same connection also appears under Integrations need attention in the header.
After changing the password in RMS, click Update or Re-register in the Rakuten RPP row to register the new ID and password. Automatic retrieval resumes immediately after registration. If the status is Preparing to start, it resumes when preparation is complete.
Troubleshoot stopped data retrieval
When performance data retrieval stops, one of the following statuses appears in the Rakuten RPP row under Settings > Integrations. Follow the steps for the displayed status. If you open Update or Re-register while retrieval is stopped, a notice about the cause appears. Registering credentials does not restart retrieval until the cause is resolved.
Display | Situation | What to do |
|---|---|---|
R-Login required | Your R-Login ID and password have not been registered yet. | Follow the steps above to add and approve Cascade's Rakuten ID and register your R-Login ID and password. |
Preparing to start | Your registration has been accepted, and preparation for data retrieval is underway. | Retrieval usually starts within a few minutes. If you have not added and approved Cascade's Rakuten ID, open Re-register to check the Rakuten ID, then add and approve it. |
Sync stopped (with no other status shown) | Your R-Login ID or password is invalid or has expired. | Click Update or Re-register to register the new ID and password. |
Unlock required | Your store's R-Login is locked. | Unlock it in RMS. If you also changed the password, click Update or Re-register to register the new password. Retrieval does not resume until the account is unlocked. |
Permission class change required in RMS | The permission class for Cascade's Rakuten ID is not set to Exclude R-Backoffice. | In the R-Login user settings in RMS, set the permission class to Exclude R-Backoffice. Retrieval does not resume until you make this change. |
Rakuten ID must be added and approved in RMS | Cascade's Rakuten ID has not been added and approved as a user in your store's R-Login. | Follow the steps above to add it, and have an R-Login administrator approve it. Data cannot be retrieved until approval is complete. |
Being handled by Cascade / Action needed by Cascade | Action is required on Cascade's side. | You do not need to take any action for your store. Performance data is not retrieved until Cascade completes the required action. |
Revoked / Shop mismatch | The store URL you entered does not match the store accessed through R-Login. | Click Remove to disconnect, then reconnect using the correct store URL. |
Revoked (without Shop mismatch) | Authorization to sign in on your behalf has been revoked. | Contact support. |
When you disconnect
Disconnecting Rakuten RPP deletes the R-Login ID and password stored by Cascade and stops automatic performance data retrieval. If you added Cascade's Rakuten ID as an R-Login user in RMS, remove that user in RMS after disconnecting.
