Connect Rakuten Ichiba to use EC Analysis

Paste serviceSecret and the license key from RMS, along with your shop URL, into Cascade to view Rakuten Ichiba sales in EC Analysis.

Author: Cascade

Connect Rakuten Ichiba to view your store's sales in Cascade's EC Analysis. You can use Sales Trend, Customer LTV Analysis (LTV and F2 conversion rate), Product ABC Analysis, Product Sales Ranking, sales trends by item, bundle purchase analysis, and inventory analysis, as well as Catalog and Reviews. Traffic Channel Analysis and Returns & Refunds Analysis are not supported for Rakuten Ichiba. Connect from Settings > Integrations in the left menu.

Rakuten Ichiba connects as "another sales channel," separate from your own online store (cart). You can use it alongside a cart integration such as Shopify.

To connect, open RMS (Rakuten Ichiba's store management interface) and find serviceSecret and License Key. Paste them into Cascade along with your shop URL. This takes about 5–10 minutes. If you are applying for WEB API access in RMS for the first time, it may take additional time before it becomes available.

Prerequisites

  • Integrations and EC Analysis are available on the Business plan.

  • You must have the Owner or Admin role for the product to connect.

  • You must have permission to log in to RMS (Rakuten Ichiba's store management interface).

  • Make sure WEB API is available in RMS (if this is your first time, apply in step 1).

  • Have the URL of the store you want to connect ready (e.g. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/).

If you already use RMS WEB API with an order management system or another tool Rakuten uses 1 shared set of credentials (serviceSecret and license key) per store. In this case, enter the same serviceSecret and license key you currently use into Cascade. You do not need to issue new ones.

Steps

1. Enable WEB API in RMS

Log in to RMS and open Merchant Information and Services > WEB API Service. If this is your first time using it, follow the instructions to apply and accept the terms of service. Skip this step if you already use it.

2. Find serviceSecret

On the WEB API usage settings screen, set the APIs Cascade uses (Rakuten Pay Order API and Inventory API) to In Use and save the settings. After saving, serviceSecret appears. Copy it and keep it handy.

If you forget to set Inventory API to In Use, only inventory analysis remains empty. Sales, customer, and other analyses use Order API, but inventory analysis requires Inventory API. Set both to In Use.

3. Find the license key

On the same WEB API screen, open View / Change License Key and follow the instructions to display the license key (licenseKey) and copy it. If you are asked to complete image verification or another check, follow the on-screen instructions.

If you already use WEB API with an order management system or another tool For the license key, do not reissue it. On the View / Change License Key screen, copy the current license key as it is and use it. Issuing a new key here invalidates the key you currently use and stops integrations with other tools, such as your order management system. You only need to issue a new key if you have never used WEB API before.

The license key expires 90 days after it is issued. Sales imports stop when it expires. Before it expires, update the license key in RMS. In Cascade, click Update key and paste serviceSecret and the new license key again (see "Update licenseKey" for details). If you share the same key with other tools, replace it with the new key in those tools as well.

4. Find your shop URL

Have the homepage URL of the store you want to connect ready (e.g. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/). You can also use just the store name at the end (e.g. your-shop).

5. Paste the details into Cascade and connect

Commerce Integrations on the Integrations page

Open Settings > Integrations, then click Connect in the Rakuten Ichiba row under Commerce Integrations.

When the Connect Rakuten Ichiba screen opens, enter the following details and click Connect.

Field

Description

Shop URL (or slug)

The shop URL from step 4 (e.g. https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/). You can also use just the slug at the end (e.g. your-shop).

serviceSecret

The serviceSecret you copied in step 2.

licenseKey

The license key you copied in step 3.

The connection is complete when "Successfully connected to Rakuten Ichiba." appears. Imports start with orders from the last 90 days immediately after connecting. Data appears in EC Analysis and Catalog within a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the number of orders. Older history (up to 2 years) is filled in gradually during subsequent syncs.

After the initial import is complete, new orders are imported incrementally every 6 hours, in addition to 1 nightly sync per day. Orders placed today also appear within a few hours. Order corrections, such as cancellations, are applied by retrieving the last 35 days of data again during the nightly sync.

Analysis available for Rakuten Ichiba

  • Sales Trend (EC > Sales)

  • Customer LTV Analysis: LTV and breakdowns by purchase count, plus the percentage of customers who made a second purchase within 30/60/90 days of their first purchase (F2 conversion rate) and the average LTV of all customers (Sales)

  • Bundle Purchase Ranking (frequently bought together) and inventory (Items)

  • Reviews: import a review CSV downloaded from the Review Check Tool in RMS (EC > Reviews)

  • Catalog: set gross margins for each product (EC > Catalog)

Traffic Channel Analysis and Returns & Refunds Analysis are not supported for Rakuten Ichiba. Rakuten order data does not include visit channels (traffic sources) or return and refund details.

Rakuten Ichiba order line items are retained for only the last 90 days. Bundle Purchase Ranking is available when you select a period that falls within the last 90 days, including the previous comparison period. This limit does not apply to Product ABC Analysis, Product Sales Ranking, or sales trends by item.

Update licenseKey (every 90 days)

As the license key approaches expiration, Key: {n} Days Left appears in the Notices column of the Rakuten Ichiba row (starting when 14 days remain). After expiration, Expired appears. If syncing stops, Sync stopped appears. The same integration also appears under Integrations need attention in the header.

Issue a new license key in RMS, then click Update key in the Rakuten Ichiba row. On the Replace licenseKey screen, paste serviceSecret and the new licenseKey, then click Replace. The store is fixed to the currently connected store and cannot be changed. When "licenseKey replaced." appears, subsequent syncs use the new key.

Only the person who connected the integration can use Update key. If someone else clicks it, "Only the person who connected this integration can perform this action." appears. Ask the member shown in the Connected By column to update the key. If that person is unavailable, an Admin must click Remove to disconnect, then reconnect.

Handling credentials

  • serviceSecret and the license key are sensitive credentials that provide access to your store's sales and order data. Do not share them with third parties, including anyone outside your company.

  • Avoid taking or sharing screenshots that show these credentials.

  • If you share the same credentials with other tools, such as an order management system, reissuing the license key in RMS requires you to replace it in both those tools and Cascade.

Disconnect

Under Settings > Integrations, click Remove in the Rakuten Ichiba row. The message "Disconnecting removes access to data from the connected service and limits the reports and data you can view." appears. Review it and proceed. After disconnecting, the store's data no longer appears in EC Analysis.

Cause

What to do

"serviceSecret or licenseKey is invalid, or licenseKey has expired. Check or reissue it in RMS and paste it again." appears

The credentials are incorrect, the license key has expired, or part of the value was not copied.

Check serviceSecret and the license key in RMS. Reissue the license key if needed, then copy and enter the values again.

"The shop URL (or slug) is not in a valid format." appears

The shop URL contains extra characters.

https://www.rakuten.co.jp/your-shop/ is the required URL format. You can also enter just the store name at the end (your-shop).

"Rakuten Ichiba is already connected." appears

Rakuten Ichiba is already connected to this product.

Duplicate connections are not supported. To set up the connection again, first click Remove to disconnect, then reconnect.

No data appears after connecting

The initial import is in progress (starting with the last 90 days of orders).

Check again in a few minutes to a few hours. Older history is added gradually during subsequent syncs.

Only inventory analysis remains empty

Inventory API is not set to In Use in RMS.

Set Inventory API to In Use in the WEB API usage settings in RMS (see step 2).

Expired or Sync stopped appears, and sales data is not updated

The license key has expired (90 days).

Update the license key in RMS. The person who connected the integration must click Update key and paste serviceSecret and the new licenseKey. If you share the same key with other tools, replace it with the new key in those tools as well.

"Only the person who connected this integration can perform this action." appears when you click Update key

Someone other than the person who connected the integration is performing the action.

Ask the member shown in the Connected By column. If that person is unavailable, an Admin must disconnect and reconnect the integration.
