I was accepted into the San Francisco travel program at Founder University Tokyo.
Recently, Cascade Inc. was selected for a travel program to San Francisco at the "Founder University Tokyo" organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
What is Founder University Tokyo
Founder University Tokyo is a startup support program by JETRO aimed at acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for early-stage fundraising and building a network with angel investors.
The supporting organization is LAUNCH, based in San Francisco, USA. Its representative is the renowned angel investor Jason Calacanis, known for being an early investor in companies like Uber and Robinhood. This organization has a track record of investing in over 550 early-stage startups and has produced 8 unicorn companies, supporting this program.
The program consists of the following three phases.
Domestic Bootcamp (Tokyo, In-Person) offers intensive lectures and workshops covering entrepreneur mindset, customer discovery, GTM strategy, etc. Opportunities to interact with angel investors are also provided.
Online Acceleration Program (January to March) features weekly live sessions and podcast-style mentoring, progressively refining MVP development, business model design, market validation, TAM analysis, and competitor assessment.
Travel Program (San Francisco) includes meetings with potential customers through Jason Calacanis' network, a Demo Day with investors, and lectures on developing business in the United States.
About Selection
This travel program has a highly competitive selection among only 9 companies chosen from 35 participants in the domestic program. Cascade has been selected as one of those 9 companies.
