Cascade Inc. has been selected for the San Francisco trip program of "Founder University Tokyo," hosted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
About Founder University Tokyo
Founder University Tokyo is a JETRO startup support program designed to build the knowledge and skills required for early-stage fundraising and to develop networks with angel investors.
The supporting organization is LAUNCH, based in San Francisco, U.S.A. It is led by Jason Calacanis, the renowned angel investor known as an early investor in Uber and Robinhood. The organization behind this program has invested in more than 550 early-stage startups and produced eight unicorns.
The program consists of the following three phases.
The domestic boot camp (Tokyo, in person) delivers intensive lectures and workshops on the entrepreneurial mindset, customer discovery, and go-to-market strategy, along with opportunities to meet angel investors.
The online acceleration program (January to March) uses weekly live sessions and pod-format mentoring to refine MVP development, business model design, market validation, TAM analysis, and competitive assessment step by step.
The trip program (San Francisco) features meetings with prospective customers through Jason Calacanis's network, a Demo Day with investors, and lectures on expanding into the U.S. market.
About the selection
This trip program is highly competitive: of the 35 companies in the domestic program, only nine are chosen to take part. Cascade was selected as one of those nine.
